Dining out can be one of the biggest struggles when trying to live a healthy lifestyle, unless you're doing it right. I get it- your friends want to go to Chipotle and you don't want to be that girl who is trying to "eat healthy" so you keep your mouth shut and you go. When you get to Chipotle you think of how you could possibly be healthy when there's cheese, sour cream, rice, and all the goodies. Well I'm here to tell you that it is possible to eat healthy out. I've been doing it for 6 years and it's gotten to the point where I get excited for the challenge of being able to turn a 950 calorie meal into 300 calories. As I've mentioned, I go to the University of Dayton so I'm going to supply all my Flyers with Brown Street chains and some other popular fast food options. Look at the list to the right!
Along with some links to specific restaurants, here are some dining out tips that have kept me sane:
Check the online menu before you go so that you have thought out the best option for you and your goals
Avoid anything with the words "creamy, bisque, fried, breaded, tempura, sautéed (lots of extra oil), crispy"
ALWAYS order dressing on the side, no matter how healthy
Order cheeses on the side, add only half if need be
